INOU e-Bulletin - May 2022 - Issue 51

eB51A-01

Welcome to Issue 51 of the INOU e-Bulletin!

In this issue we will hear about the #Addthe10th Campaign to add socio-economic status as another ground to the current equality legislation. In a similar vein an INOU affiliate writes about good practices for Inclusive Hiring. There is an article on the Citywest Jobs Fair run by South Dublin County Partnership, and another on JobsIreland.ie website, which is part of the Department of Social Protection’s online Public Employment Service.

Following on from the INOU discussion fora held at the end of April, we have articles covering some of the subjects covered at these fora, namely Further Education and Training and Apprenticeships. There is a report on the INOU’s Annual Delegate Conference, and the subjects discussed at this online meeting.

There is an article summarising the INOU submission to the Low Pay Commission on the National Minimum Wage 2023; another on the Government’s Shared Island initiative to bring greater cross-border and cross-community co-operation; and a breakdown of the CSO’s Survey of Income and Living Conditions (SILC) 2021 and recent Monthly Unemployment data in Recent Statistics. And finally, concerns are raised on the slow return to in-person oral hearings in a piece entitled Social Welfare Appeals Post COVID-19.

The Scheme to Support National Organisations is funded by the Government of Ireland through the Department of Rural and Community Development.
