INOU e-Bulletin - February 2024 - Issue 58

eBullettin_issue58

Welcome to Issue 58 of the INOU e-Bulletin!

In this Issue we look at three submissions the INOU made to: (i) the Department of Rural and Community Development on Ireland's second National Social Enterprise Policy; (ii) the Joint Committee on Social Protection, Community and Rural Development and the Islands on the pre-legislative scrutiny for the transition from Jobseeker's Benefit to Jobseeker's Pay Related Benefit; and (iii) the same Joint Committee on the issue of means testing. In another article we describe the new National Strategic Framework for Lifelong Guidance 2024-2030 and accompanying Action Plan published at the end of 2023. Articles from three INOU affiliates, Ballymun Jobs Centre, WorkEqual and NCU Training, describe their work and new exciting developments. Another piece outlines the Community Platform’s submission to the United Nations Committee on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights. Read about the INOU Learning Hub hosting a mini recruitment event for learners in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection; the INOU’s online events covering a broad range of topics; and finally a description of the 2022 Pobal HP Deprivation Index.
