Terremplo Project Launched

On May 14th, 2024, Ballymun Job Centre (BJC) celebrated the launch event of their Terremplo project funded by Interreg North West Europe, which is a Small Scale Interreg project under the Inclusive Society priority. On the Interreg NWE website they note “With this priority the Programme shall contribute to following some of the 17 “sustainable development goals” (SDGs) of the United Nations : SDG 3 “Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages”, SDG 4 “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all”, SDG 8 “Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all”, SDG 10 “Reduce inequality within and among countries”, SDG 11 “Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable”, SDG 16 “Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels”.

Terremplo is a cross-border initiative to create a joint strategy to connect and sustain collective innovation networks between the regions of Wallonia, Belgium; Picardie Maritime & Pays de la Loire, France; and Dublin, Ireland. By enhancing inter-agency collaboration of employment and training providers, the project aims to strengthen support to young people Not in Employment Education or Training (NEET), and to develop entrepreneurial competencies among target groups.

The launch event gathered European partners and associated national partners including representatives from the Department of Social Protection (DSP), the Irish National Organisation of the Unemployed (INOU), Dublin City Council (DCC), City of Dublin Education and Training Board (CDETB), Dublin Northwest Partnership (DNP), Louth Local Development (LLDC), SEETEC Employment Services, the Central Remedial Clinic (CRC) and the Ballymun Rediscovery Centre.
