Cross Border Events

Cross-Border Living and Working online series

We are delighted to run a series of free Cross-Border Living and Working’ events.

One of the main objectives of these events is to highlight where people can access accurate information on living and working on different sides of the border. We know that concerns have been raised over many years about people having incomplete or inaccurate information about cross-border working. In some cases, this can lead to significant difficulties for people. We are aware that the need for accurate information and accurate information sources are very important.

We are delighted to partner with a range of key organisations, showcasing their very valuable work and services.

We ran one online event in October 2024. This focussed on Managing Debt, and we were delighted to partner with the North Connacht and Ulster Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS) and Advice NI’s Money and Debt Services for this event.

Karl Cronin, Regional Manager of the North Connacht and Ulster MABS presented information on the different services provided by MABS through a network of Centres in the region. Zoe Parker, Service Manager with Advice NI’s Money and Debt Services, presented on the work of the Service, highlighting the important Supports the Service provides through its network of Centres.

In addition to the presentations, we included time for questions, clarification and discussion.

We would like to thank the Karl and Zoe for their excellent presentations and to thank everyone who attended for contributing to two very successful online events.

We ran two online events in 2023, one in September and one in November. Further information on these events, including the presentations are included in the 2023 bar on the side.

We plan to run further Cross Border Living and Working online events, focussing on different topics. If you have any employment/unemployment related topics you would like to have explored at one of these online events, or you would like to know more about these events, please contact our Membership and Development Worker, John at membership@inou.ie or by phone on: 089-4363640.
