Training Allowance

The City of Dublin Education and Training Board (CDETB) provides various financial supports in the form of allowances to assist participants attending Shaping Futures, these include:

  • A weekly training allowance*
  • Travel Allowance
  • Meal Allowance
  • Accomodation allowance (where applicable)
  • Childcare allowance (where applicable)

 

* The weekly training allowance is equivalent to the DEASP BTEA rate of €232.00 (plus qualified adult and child, where applicable).  If a participant's personal Social Welfare entitlement exceeds the weekly training allowance, a training allowance equivalent to their personal entitlement will be paid. 

Allowances, as below, will be paid to participants who have a personal entitlement in one of the following categories:

  • Jobseekers Allowance - Training allowance plus Travel & Meal Allowance
  • Jobseekers Benefit - Training allowance plus Travel & Meal Allowance
  • Supplementary Welfare Allowance (SWA) - Training allowance plus Travel & Meal Allowance
  • Occupational Injuries Benefit - Training allowance plus Travel & Meal Allowance
  • Disability Allowance or Blind Pension - Training allowance plus Travel & Meal Allowance
  • One Parent Family Payment - Retain payment plus Travel & Meal Allowance
  • Deserted Wife Benefit - Retain payment plus Travel & Meal Allowance
  • Widows/Widowers Pension - Retain payment plus Travel & Meal Allowance
  • Illness Benefit & Invalidity Pension - Retain payment plus Travel & Meal Allowance
  • Dependant on Partner's Claim - Travel & Meal Allowance only
  • Credits Only - Travel & Meal Allowance only
